Back pain is often caused by obesity

Most people know that obesity contributes to the development of various diseases. However, did you know that obesity is a contributing factor to back pain? It is true. Being overweight or obese can significantly contribute to  osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, and spondylolisthesis.

Spine Conditions (entire spine)

Spine ConditionsThe spinal column protects the spinal cord and allows for movement of the body in various ranges of motion. There are 24, movable bones (also known as vertebrae), plus a sacrum and a coccyx at the bottom of this column which is surrounded by the bony pelvis.

  • Radiculopathy (inflammation around the nerve root; the associated pain is sometimes called radicular pain)
  • Spinal Curvature (bending and twisting of the spinal column affecting mainly the thoracic or the lumbar)
